Tucked away on Lower Shing Mun Road, Fu Shan Crematorium stands as a quiet presence in the bustling city of Hong Kong. Fu Shan Crematorium is more than just a building. It is a place where lives are commemorated and memories are kept. The Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Department operates Fu Shan Crematorium, along with five other government crematoria. These include Cape Collinson, Diamond Hill, Kwai Chung, Wo Hop Shek, and Cheung Chau. Fu Shan Crematorium also houses a columbarium, offering a resting place for ashes and a space for remembrance. Interestingly, Fu Shan Crematorium’s columbarium underwent recent renovations. Starting in November 2024, the columbarium was refurbished to enhance the environment for visitors. The work lasted for approximately three months, aiming to create a more serene and respectful space. The renovations continued to serve the public during its opening hours.
