You stand here, looking up at the PZU Tower. It has dominated the Warsaw skyline for decades, but its days may be numbered. This building, once a symbol of ambition and modern architecture, could soon be just a memory. The PZU Tower, built in 2000, was completed during a period of economic growth and modernization in Poland. At the time, it was one of the most modern office buildings in the country, showcasing Poland’s economic might. The tower was designed to be the headquarters of the PZU insurance company. It was designed by a consortium of talented architects. The tower’s futuristic design, its unique triangular shape, and its glass facade made it stand out from the other buildings in the area. But times change. The PZU Tower is no longer a symbol of progress. It became outdated and in 2020 the PZU HQ moved to a new building, the Generation Park complex. This left the tower empty, a silent ghost of a bygone era. The plans to demolish the tower are a sign of the changing times, of a new Warsaw emerging on the horizon.
