What if I told you this tower once housed gunpowder? The Fujimi-yagura tower stands tall. It is in the southeast corner of old Edo Castle’s main enclosure.

Important buildings once stood in Honmaru. Honmaru was the main enclosure of old Edo Castle. These buildings shouldered the responsibility of Japan’s feudal politics. Most buildings burned down. Only a few survived. Fujimi-yagura tower is the tallest survivor.

The original tower was destroyed by fire in 1657. It was rebuilt in 1659. Initially, it served as a warehouse. Later, it became a sightseeing tower. People enjoyed views of Mount Fuji and Edo fireworks.

Mieno-yagura sits on Honmaru’s southern tip. It is 16 meters tall. It is also known as Happo-shomen-yagura. This means “the all-sides guard keep”. It replaced the castle tower destroyed in 1657. From its top, Mount Fuji is visible.

The Park Court Chiyoda Fujimi The Tower is a residential building. It was completed in 2015. It has 40 floors. It is 149.1 meters tall.

Fujimi Tenbou-tou tower offers stunning views. On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji and Tokyo Skytree. This landmark of Seibuen Yuenchi is 80 meters tall. It rotates 360 degrees. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Kanto Plain. This five-minute experience is fun for all ages.

Note that the Fujimi Tenbou-tou tower may close due to maintenance. It may also close due to weather. It may also close due to other circumstances.
