A beacon of faith stands tall. This is Fellowship Baptist Church of West Springfield. Its story began August 19 1994 under Reverend Dr Carlton W Veazey. He was the Pastor-Founder. The church found early support from Dr Walter E Fauntroy. He was the Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church. Dr Fauntroy and his congregation generously helped the fledgling Fellowship Baptist Church. They provided a much-needed hand.
Fellowship Baptist Church found further encouragement from Dr Joseph A Gilmore Sr. He was Pastor of Mt Ephraim Baptist Church. He guided a small prayer group seeking a spiritual leader. Dr Gilmore believed even a small group can accomplish God’s work. This small group persevered. They shared a single goal. They wanted Reverend Veazey to lead their new church.
Reverend Patricia Hailes Fears currently leads Fellowship Baptist Church. She guides a community of believers. They are driven by faith and seek to make a difference. The church continues to grow. It adapts to a changing world. The church is embracing technology. They use Realm a new church management tool. This tool helps maintain records and facilitates seamless transitions.
