In 1945 a significant event shaped St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School’s history. St Paul’s Girls’ College and St Paul’s Boys’ College merged. This created Hong Kong’s first co-educational school. The primary school was established at the same time. Mr Maak Ying Kei became its first headteacher.

St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School has a rich history. Founded within a larger institution it quickly established its own identity. The school’s journey wasn’t always smooth. There were many changes. These included location changes and evolving educational approaches.

Initially located at 1 Calder Path the school moved in 1971. The new building was at 33 MacDonnell Road. This is where the main campus of St Paul’s Co-educational College is. The move reflected the school’s growth and ambitions.

Later in 1957 the school transitioned from a whole-day format to AM and PM sessions. This was a significant shift. It reflected the educational landscape of the time. Different headteachers led the AM and PM schools. Ms Fok Lan Hing and Ms Lee Quay Ying were among them. Their leadership guided the school through these changes.

Further changes came in 1999. The two primary schools merged. They became St Paul’s Co-educational (MacDonnell Road) Primary School and St Paul’s Co-educational (Kennedy Road) Primary School. Ms Wu Shuk Yin and Ms Lee Tuen Yee were the headmistresses. Finally in 2006 the schools were fully merged. They became St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School. Ms Lee Tuen Yee became the Headmistress. The school moved to its current location in Wong Chuk Hang.
