“Sankri Devi”. That’s what the locals call this beautiful Saraswati Mandir. This temple, over a thousand years old, stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and the goddess Saraswati. The Saraswati Mandir is more than just a place of worship. It’s a beacon of knowledge, a sanctuary for artists, and a symbol of Varanasi’s rich cultural heritage. Sadly, time and the elements have taken their toll on the Saraswati Mandir. The roof, once a majestic canopy, has become dilapidated. Rainwater seeps through the cracks, making it difficult for devotees to perform their rituals. However, there’s hope on the horizon. Efforts are underway to restore the Saraswati Mandir to its former glory, to mend its broken roof, and to ensure that it continues to inspire generations to come.
