Does the name D’Aria ring a bell? It should. D’Aria is a premium wine brand nestled between Durbanville and Bloubergstrand. This area is known as Sauvignon Blanc Country. Here at D’Aria you will find a harmony of the senses.

D’Aria is located in the Wine of Origin Cape Town region. It is the perfect place to savor internationally acclaimed wines. Here history tradition nature and winemaking come together. Each D’Aria wine is handcrafted. The grapes are handpicked. Bunches and berries undergo a second hand-sorting at the cellar. This shows the team’s passion and dedication. It adds significant value to the wines.

The wines have a distinctive character. They are meant to intrigue and delight the senses. Their whimsical character and musical names beckon the palate. Songbird Soprano Blush Lullaby The Piccolo Pop Song and Rock Song are some examples.

D’Aria has received international awards for its wines. These awards affirm the taste of those who love D’Aria. They produce a comprehensive range of natural wines potstill brandy and hand crafted gin.

The land D’Aria occupies consists of two old wine farms. These are Doordekraal and Springfield. Springfield’s history goes back to 1698. The governor of the Cape granted this farmland. It was known as Hooge Bergs Vallei then. It became one of the oldest farmlands in greater Cape Town. In 1998 and 1999 Barinor bought this land. It quickly became known as D’Aria.

D’Aria owes its success to hard working Dutchwomen. Tryntjie Verway and her daughter Alida owned Doodekraal and Springfield. These historic farms merged to become D’Aria Vineyards in 1998.

D’Aria launched its first wine in November 2005. It was the D’Aria Sauvignon Blanc. They pride themselves on winemaking by hand. Grapes are handpicked and sorted by hand in the cellar. The winery can handle up to 400 tons. It processes 80% red varieties and 20% white grapes. The architecture reflects its Cape Dutch heritage. White grapes are processed in an inert nitrogen press. Fermentation happens in stainless steel tanks. Red grapes mature in oak barriques after fermentation.

D’Aria offers wine tasting and has an outdoor braai area. It is also known for its summer concert series. The award-winning Poplars Restaurant provides a great dining experience. You can relax around a spitbraai at lunch. The restaurant can host functions from weddings to exhibitions for up to 350 people.

Consider joining the D’Aria Wine Club. Members receive a 10% discount on wine purchases. They also get first offers on special releases.
