The Fellowship Baptist Church started its journey on August 19 1994. Reverend Dr. Carlton W. Veazey was the Pastor-Founder. The church was organized with the help of Dr. Walter E. Fauntroy. He was the Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church. Dr. Fauntroy and his parishioners opened their doors. They helped the struggling church.
The late Dr. Joseph A. Gilmore Sr. also played a vital role. He was the Pastor of MT. Ephraim Baptist Church. He encouraged a small prayer band. He guided them in their search for a spiritual leader. Dr. Gilmore assured them that God needs only a few to do His work. The worshippers continued their quest. They were united in their purpose. They wanted to encourage Rev. Veazey to become pastor.
