Royal Lake Park features a distinctive J-shaped, 38-acre lake. The lake offers many activities. Fishing and canoeing are popular. Kayaking lets you explore hidden corners. The lake was dredged in 2016. This increased its flood capacity. Two artificial islands were created during the dredging. These islands are under development. They provide habitats for wildlife.
Royal Lake Park has more than just water. There are playgrounds for children. Baseball and soccer fields offer space for sports. Basketball and tennis courts await athletes. Outdoor fitness equipment helps you stay active.
Lakeside Park complements Royal Lake Park. It is located at 5216 Pommeroy Drive. Lakeside Park has a picnic area. A playground and basketball court are available. There is also a T-ball field. The natural-surface trail has steep grades.
The developed area is off Eastlake Drive. It is on the northwest wing of the lake’s J-shape. Here, you will find a parking lot. There is also a playground. Basketball and tennis courts are nearby. Please note that the maintenance access road is not for boat launching.
