Royal Lake Park features a distinctive J-shaped, 38-acre lake. The lake offers many activities. Fishing and canoeing are popular. Kayaking lets you explore hidden corners. The lake was dredged in 2016. This increased its flood capacity. Two artificial islands were created during the dredging. These islands are under development. They provide habitats for wildlife.

It is at the Pommeroy Drive entrance. A loop trail around the lake is one and three-quarter miles. Side trails extend the hike to almost two miles. Be aware that bikes are prohibited. The natural-surface trail has steep grades.

The developed area is off Eastlake Drive. It is on the northwest wing of the lake’s J-shape. Here, you will find a parking lot. There is also a playground. Basketball and tennis courts are nearby. Please note that the maintenance access road is not for boat launching.
