Christ City Church, a vibrant congregation in the heart of Vancouver, has a relatively recent history, dating back to its founding on September 22, 2013. But the story of this church is intertwined with the legacies of those that came before. It all began when South Hill Church, a congregation formed from the union of two Vancouver Mennonite Brethren churches, made the difficult decision to disband in 2013. In an act of extraordinary generosity, they chose to donate their building to a newly forming church plant, Christ City Church. This act of faith provided Pastor Brett Landry and his team a debt-free facility, a remarkable blessing that allowed them to launch their ministry with incredible momentum. The church, guided by their motto “centered on Jesus, grounded in Scripture, and loving our city,” quickly grew. By 2019, they had expanded to include a location in Kitsilano and had plans for a third location in East Vancouver. Today, Christ City Church thrives as a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and community.
