According to legend, Šárka betrayed her lover Ctirad during the Maidens’ War. Consumed by guilt, she leaped to her death from the cliffs here.

People settled in Divoká Šárka as far back as the Paleolithic era. Archeological finds confirm settlements through the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. A castle fortress stood here between the 7th and 9th centuries. Farming ended here after World War II.
Today, Divoká Šárka is full of paths for walking, hiking and biking. The paths wind through the valley. They offer stunning views of the cliffs and forests. Some areas are steep. This makes them popular with mountain climbers. There is also Lake Džbán. Swimming is allowed in the lake. The water is spring-fed and cold.
