Tucked away on Bauherrenstrasse, the Kapelle Sonnegg whispers stories of faith and community. This isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to a century of spiritual life in Zurich. The Christian community that calls Kapelle Sonnegg home arrived here in August 2011. But their roots stretch back much further, to a 19th-century spiritual awakening in the Rhineland and England. For 35 years prior, they gathered on Kanzleistrasse. Their story intertwines with figures like Georg Müller, who opened the Bristol orphanage in 1836. He was part of the movement known as “the Brethren.” The community at Kapelle Sonnegg doesn’t see itself as a denomination. They find their foundation in the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible. They gather at Kapelle Sonnegg for worship and the Lord’s supper on Sundays at 9:30 am. Sermons and Sunday school follow at 10:15 am. Thursdays at 7:45 pm are reserved for prayer and Bible study. Kapelle Sonnegg is more than just a place of worship. It’s a living link to a rich history of faith, a place where the echoes of generations past mingle with the voices of today’s community.
