Tucked away in the bustling Shinjuku district lies Shinsaku 2-chome. It’s a distinct neighborhood with a rich history. Shinsaku 2-chome is officially Area 2 within the Shinjuku Special Ward of Tokyo. Shinsaku 2-chome is part of the larger Shinjuku area, known for being the noisiest and most crowded of Tokyo’s 23 special wards. Interestingly, Shinsaku 2-chome itself isn’t directly known as a gay hub, unlike the nearby Shinjuku Ni-chōme. The area is served by Hanazono Elementary School and Yotsuya Junior High School for local residents.
