From its humble beginnings in 1976, Kawasaki Shiritsu Miyamae-daira Chugakko has been more than just a school. It’s a living testament to the spirit of Miyamae-ku, Kawasaki. Miyamae-daira Chugakko first opened its doors to 340 eager students. The first class consisted of 198 first-year students and 142 second-year students, transferred from Kawasaki Shiritsu Miyamae Chugakko. Imagine those first few months, a blend of nervous excitement and the thrill of a fresh start. The school building, completed just a few months prior in February 1976, housed 12 general classrooms and 2 special classrooms. It also contained 4 administration rooms and other necessary facilities. The very foundation of Miyamae-daira Chugakko, its educational goals, were established just a few months later. These goals focused on developing fundamental knowledge and skills, establishing essential life habits, and fostering a rich sense of humanity. Physical health was also a key component. Miyamae-daira Chugakko aimed to nurture well-rounded individuals. Students are encouraged to be self-reliant, proactive, collaborative, responsible, honest, and thoughtful. Over the years, Miyamae-daira Chugakko expanded. A second building and gymnasium were added in 1976, and a fourth phase of construction in 1983 brought eight more classrooms, a preparation room, an audiovisual room, a broadcasting room, a counseling room, a conference room, and changing rooms. The school’s history is filled with milestones. The establishment of the school song in 1976, the 5th anniversary celebration in 1981, the 10th anniversary in 1985, and the 40th anniversary in 2015. These events mark not just the passage of time, but the growth and evolution of Miyamae-daira Chugakko. Today, Miyamae-daira Chugakko stands as a symbol of community and learning, where every student is encouraged to strive for their full potential, embracing the school’s motto of knowledge, life skills, humanity, and health. Miyamae-daira Chugakko is a place where the echoes of past students mingle with the laughter and aspirations of the current generation, a place where history is not just learned, but lived.
