“Welcome to Christ Community,” a friendly voice might greet you, and you wouldn’t be wrong to sense a double meaning in those words. Right here, in Brandon, Florida, stands Christ Community Church, a place that takes both its name and its mission seriously. It wants to be more than just a building, it aims to be a living, breathing embodiment of its namesake. This isn’t a church with a long, storied past etched in centuries-old stone. Christ Community Church, born from the vision of Dr. Richard Williams from the Christ Community Church of Tampa, came to life in 1978. Picture this: a small group, just six families strong, driven by the same desire – to build a church grounded in verse-by-verse Bible teaching. They wanted a place where faith felt like a warm embrace, not a rigid doctrine. Over the years, different pastors have guided the flock, each leaving their own unique imprint on the church’s story. But one thing remained constant: the dedication to fostering a close-knit community, interpreting the scriptures with a conservative lens, and, above all, keeping Jesus Christ at the very heart of it all.
