In 1925, a seed was planted. This seed would eventually blossom into the esteemed Seitoku College, right here in Kita, Tokyo. Seitoku College wasn’t always a college. It began as a much smaller institution. It wasn’t until 1965 that it officially received its college charter. The college’s history is deeply intertwined with the larger Seitoku Gakuen, an educational institution founded in 1926 as Oji Girls High School, also in Kita, Tokyo. Imagine, this very spot was once part of a network of schools, including a university, high school, junior high school, and even a kindergarten. Today, Seitoku College stands as a testament to its long and rich history. It’s fascinating to consider that by March 2020, the Seitoku Gakuen network had over 120,000 graduates. The combined enrollment of all the Seitoku schools, including Seitoku College, reached 5,338 students by May 2020. This vibrant community is a testament to the enduring legacy of Seitoku College.
