Eighty years. That’s how long Centro Universitário Sant’Anna has been shaping minds. Founded in 1932 it began as a primary and secondary school. In 1999 it was officially recognised as a university. Today UniSant’Anna is part of the Ânica Educacional group.
UniSant’Anna offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These span human sciences, biological sciences and exact sciences. You can study in person or online.
The university has a long history of supporting sports. It also helps students with their studies and career plans. Many Olympic athletes have studied here. They receive special scholarships.
UniSant’Anna has a Psychopedagogical and Professional Support Center. It provides academic assistance and career guidance. The university offers modular courses. These allow students to gain qualifications before graduating.
UniSant’Anna has two campuses in Sāo Paulo. One is in Zona Norte near Portuguesa-Tietê metro station. The other is in Zona Leste inside Shopping Aricanduva. The main campus in Zona Norte is vast. It covers over 50.000 square meters. It boasts 160 classrooms, a library and five computer labs. There are also specific labs. These cater to courses like radiology, aeronautical engines and body aesthetics. Communication students enjoy dedicated studios.
UniSant’Anna also has campuses in Tucuruvi and Vila Leopoldina. There is even a campus in Salto. This is in the Sāo Paulo countryside.
The university once stood among Sāo Paulo’s most respected. It experienced a decline until the 1990s. It then re-emerged offering traditional courses. Some courses are highly rated by the Ministry of Education MEC.
UniSant’Anna has over 15.000 students. They pursue over 30 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It has more than 50 faculty members.
In 2011 UniSant’Anna faced potential administrative restrictions. This was due to unsatisfactory MEC evaluations. The university needed to achieve a minimum score of 3 in the Índice Geral de Cursos IGC. This index assesses universities based on the quality of their courses. UniSant’Anna had received scores below 3 for three consecutive years. Despite these challenges UniSant’Anna continues to educate and empower students. It helps them shape their futures. It is a place of learning and growth.
