Nine souls gathered in a pastor’s living room. That was the humble beginning of Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries on June 2 1979. From those intimate beginnings sprang a vibrant faith community. Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries quickly outgrew its initial space. The church moved to Bladensburg Elementary School in Maryland. They worshipped there for three months. Limited space pushed them to seek a new home.

The church found temporary refuge in Hyattsville Maryland. Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries thrived in the Fellowship Hall of another church. For four years the building bustled with activity. The congregation grew. The need for larger facilities became pressing. A prophecy promised filled seats. This prophecy fueled the search for a permanent home.

In 1983 the church’s leadership began searching for space in Anacostia. They found a former video arcade at 2220 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue. The building’s previous owner hoped it would become a church. Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries moved in. Many souls were saved delivered and added to the church. Ministries flourished. Tape ministries evangelistic teams drama and a New Generation program for those recovering from substance abuse all became part of Shiloh’s work.

Despite this success more space was needed. Another three-year search ensued. Finally in 1991 Shiloh found its current home in Forestville Maryland. The building had previously been a carpet warehouse. The pastor had a vision for transforming it. Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries was reborn once again.

Today Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries stands as a testament to faith perseverance and growth. It’s a testament to the power of prayer. The church now encompasses three locations. It extends its reach to Atlanta Georgia and the Bahamas. Each location shares a common purpose. Each seeks to share the love and word of God. The story of Shiloh Abundant Life Ministries is a powerful reminder that even the smallest seed can grow into something magnificent.
