The Parafia Błogosławionego Ignacego Kłopotowskiego in Otwock is a relatively young parish. Its story began not in grand halls but on a small plot of land. This land a gift replacing property seized by the communist regime. A symbol of hope rising from ashes.
Father Cezary arrived in 2001. His mission to establish a new pastoral center. Early days were challenging. Obstacles included securing building permits. Yet the community persisted. Their devotion a beacon in the darkness. A temporary outdoor altar became the heart of their worship. Imagine celebrating Mass under the open sky. The community’s spirit remained undeterred.
Tragedy struck. In June 2003 vandals burned down the temporary altar. A devastating blow just days before Corpus Christi. Yet even this could not extinguish the flame of their faith. Undeterred they continued their work. A new chapel was consecrated in 2005. Relics of Blessed Father Ignacy Kłopotowski a significant event for the parish arrived that same year.
The community’s dream a permanent church steadily took shape. In 2008 permission for construction was granted. The laying of the foundation stone in 2009 marked a pivotal moment. Architects Aleksy Dworczak and Janusz Frey masterminds behind the beautiful design. The final consecration took place September 9 2013. Archbishop Henryk Hoser SAC placed the cornerstone.
