Listen closely. The Zv’ánovický potok whispers secrets. It’s a small stream a humble waterway but its history runs deep.

The Zv’ánovický potok begins its journey near the Ondřejovská road in the village of Struhařov. It’s an unassuming start a somewhat irregular trickle. But from this unassuming beginning flows a tale centuries old.

The stream meanders eastward. It flows beneath the Jevanská road. Soon it’s joined by another stream from the right. Then the Habrovský potok joins from the left. The Zv’ánovický potok suddenly turns sharply south.

Under Holý vrch more streams feed its flow from the right. Then two more short streams join. The Zv’ánovický potok bends southeast flowing through a deepening valley. It turns south again. Another short stream joins from the left. Near Mlecí kameny more streams join its path one from the left and one from the right near Zvánovice.

It continues southward meandering slightly under the road. Near the Pod Černými Vodáry tourist junction the Třemblatský potok adds its waters. The Zv’ánovický potok continues through a wooded valley. It passes through the Havírna area and gardens.

It flows across fields. Near the Hradec-Kostelní Střimelice road another stream joins from the right. The stream then enters Hradec. It splits into two channels. One flows steadily east. The other meanders. It’s joined by a stream from Kostelní Střimelice.

Near the Propast mill it finally joins the Jevanský potok. The journey of the Zv’ánovický potok is complete. But its story continues. For within its valley lie traces of the past. The Mlecí kameny unfinished millstones from the Middle Ages. They hint at past industry. Their presence adds a layer of mystery to this simple stream. The Zv’ánovický potok. A small stream. A big story.
