“Almost ready” whispered the engineers as they finalized Construção Estação Campo Belo. Today, we explore this station. It is more than just concrete and steel. It represents a crucial point of connection in São Paulo’s expanding metro system.

Construção Estação Campo Belo is located at the intersection of Avenida Jornalista Roberto Marinho and Avenida Santo Amaro. This location is in the Campo Belo district. The station forms part of Line 5-Lilac. It significantly improves transportation in the area.

The station opened on April 8, 2019. However its story began long before that day. The original plans called for the station to be named “Água Espraiada-Campo Belo”. Due to changes with the Brooklin station the name was eventually shortened to Campo Belo.

The opening wasn’t without its challenges. Initially, the station operated on a limited schedule. It ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Full-time operation began on April 13th.

Construção Estação Campo Belo boasts an underground design. It features five large diameter drying pits. These pits are made with exposed concrete. A steel and glass dome provides natural light. The station has one main access point. It includes escalators and elevators for accessibility. Inside you will find a mezzanine level. This area houses ticket offices and customer service.

The station connects with Line 5-Lilac. This line links to the broader São Paulo metro network. Connections to Line 2-Green and Line 1-Blue are available via other stations. In the future Construção Estação Campo Belo will connect to Line 17.

The construction of a viaduct is underway. It will pass over Avenida Roberto Marinho. This viaduct will include a bus stop for direct access to the station. Plans also include a bicycle parking area. This will reduce traffic congestion.

The station is expected to serve 50000 to 85000 passengers per day. This number may increase with the opening of the Line 17 connection.

Safety is a key consideration at Construção Estação Campo Belo. The station features advanced systems. These systems include smoke detectors and automatic turnstile unlocking. Diesel generators ensure lighting and basic functions during emergencies. The station also uses “dry” transformers. According to Metro these are safer than oil-insulated models. Large ventilation ducts improve air quality. They also help exhaust smoke in case of fire.

Construção Estação Campo Belo includes two access tunnels for the Line 17 monorail. These tunnels facilitate seamless transfers between the different modes of transport. Bus stops are located near the station entrance. This provides convenient access.

So as you board your train at Construção Estação Campo Belo. Remember the station represents more than just a stop on a map. It embodies progress connectivity and the ongoing evolution of São Paulo’s urban landscape.
