Plover Cove Reservoir is quite the feat of engineering. It was once a sea inlet named Shuen Wan. Engineers built a 2.1km dam to create the reservoir. This dam is made of layers of gravel and sand. It is the longest in Hong Kong and the world’s first reservoir built in the sea.

Get off at the Chung Pui Barbecue Site stop. Alternatively, take Bus 75K from Tai Po Market MTR Station. Get off at Tai Mei Tuk Bus Terminus. Walk towards Bride’s Pool Road for about 30 minutes to reach the site.
