Inokashira Park straddles Musashino and Mitaka in western Tokyo. It opened on May 1, 1917. Back then, it was named Inokashira Onshi Kōen. This translates to Inokashira Imperial Grant Park. The park was a gift from the Emperor to the public.
Inokashira Park covers 383,773 square meters. You can reach it easily from Kichijōji Station or Inokashira-kōen Station. The park boasts over 11,000 tall trees. It also has nearly 13,000 shrubs and 10,000 square meters of lawn.
