Today, Manly Vale is known for its blend of residential areas. Condamine Street hosts commercial activities. You will find light industrial patches here. Several retirement villages and aged care facilities also operate in Manly Vale.
In 2021, the census counted 6389 people living in Manly Vale. A significant portion of residents were born in Australia. Other common birthplaces included England, New Zealand, China and Brazil. Most people speak English at home. Other languages include Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.

Landcare activities thrive in Manly Vale. The Return of the Mermaids Project is a local initiative. Volunteers collect rubbish. They remove weeds. They also plant native species in the Mermaid Pool on Manly Creek.
The Mermaid Pool was once a pristine sandy beach. A sparkling waterfall enhanced its beauty. Illegal dumping and urban development polluted it. Invasive weeds took over. The Return of the Mermaids project aims to restore the pool. It seeks to bring it back to its original state. The project has won awards for its efforts.
Manly Vale also treasures its Avenue of Honour. The Save Manly Dam Catchment Committee planted native trees and shrubs on King Street. This avenue leads to Manly Warringah War Memorial Park’s entrance. It honors merchant seamen’s service in both World Wars. A stone memorial stands in King Reserve.
Several schools serve the suburb’s educational needs. These include Manly Vale Public School. St Kieran’s Primary School and Mackellar Girls Campus are also here. A child care centre operated by the Child Care Group adds to the community’s resources.
