Ten thousand souls once called Tin Yan Estate home. Imagine their lives unfolding within these very walls. Tin Yan Estate a public housing estate in Tin Shui Wai is more than just concrete and steel. The 2016 by-census reveals a fascinating snapshot of life here. A population of over ten thousand residents resided here. The median age was 47.1. Ninety-eight percent of the residents were of Chinese ethnicity. The average household size was just two people. This tells a story of close-knit families and perhaps a preference for smaller living spaces.

The political landscape also casts its shadow on Tin Yan Estate. For the 2019 District Council elections the estate was divided. It fell within two constituencies. Yuet Yan and Fu Yan.
