In 1957, a seed of an idea was planted within the Blacktown Reformed Church. This seed was the dream of a parent-controlled Christian school, a dream that would eventually blossom into Tyndale Christian School. Tyndale Christian School officially opened its doors in 1966 on Kildare Road. With just two teachers, 32 students, and three classrooms, it was a humble beginning for the institution that would eventually educate thousands. The school, named after the 16th-century religious reformer William Tyndale, initially served students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Tyndale Christian School expanded its reach in 1976, adding high school education to its offerings. This growth led to a move to its current location on Douglas Road in 1979. Just two years later, in 1981, the first class of Year 12 students graduated, marking a significant milestone in the school’s history. Tyndale Christian School continued to evolve, adding an early learning center with a preschool class in 2008. The school’s commitment to providing a comprehensive Christian education culminated in 2021 when the graduating class included students who had attended Tyndale from preschool through Year 12. Today, Tyndale Christian School sits on a sprawling 5.6-hectare campus in Blacktown, a suburb of Western Sydney. It serves approximately 1,000 students from early learning through Year 12. The school prides itself on its diverse student body, representing 38 different ethnic backgrounds and speaking 58 different languages. Tyndale Christian School remains true to its founding principles, governed by an association of Christian parents dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education.
