Founded in 1949 Senzoku Gakuen Elementary School stands as a testament to a rich history. It’s part of a larger educational institution Senzoku Gakuen. This impressive organization boasts a music college a junior college and schools at various levels. Senzoku Gakuen’s origins trace back to 1924. Wakao Maeda a devout Christian established the first school. She named it Senzoku. This means “wash feet” reflecting her Christian beliefs and the act of service. The school’s anthem even includes the phrase “Wash each others’ feet”.

The Senzoku Gakuen Elementary School wasn’t the first school in this prestigious group. The Hiratsuka Sewing School for Women was established first in 1924. Later Senzoku Women’s Higher School opened its doors in 1927. A junior high school followed in 1947 a kindergarten in 1948. Finally the elementary school opened in 1949 completing the educational ladder.
