Founded in 1964 as Australia’s first Craft Association the Australian Design Centre has evolved significantly. It started as the NSW Crafts Council before transforming into the Centre for Contemporary Craft. In 1998 it adopted the name Object. Its Design Emergency program introduces design thinking to K-12 students. This program uses online resources and workshops facilitated by designers. Students explore design-led problem-solving methodologies using examples from their own lives.
