How about a story of faith tested and a community reborn? That’s the story of West-End Worship Centre. This church is more than just a building. It’s a testament to the enduring power of belief and the strength of community.
West-End Worship Centre began its journey humbly. It started at the YMCA on College Street under Bishop Hubert L. Martin in the 1970s. The church experienced rapid growth. Soon the YMCA building couldn’t hold the growing congregation. A search for a more suitable place began.
In 1973, a building at 1780 St. Clair Avenue West became available. It was called The West-End Revival Centre. Bishop Martin and the congregation made a bold decision. They purchased the building. It was renamed The West-End Church of God of Prophecy. For 22 years, the church flourished under Bishop Martin’s leadership.
In 1991, Bishop S.A. Morrison and his wife Alma took over the pastoral role. The church continued to grow. The St. Clair Avenue building became too small. Bishop Morrison felt it was time to move again. He led the church in a passionate fundraising effort. They worked towards financial stability. They wanted to purchase a new building.
In late 1999, an industrial building in Rexdale went up for sale. The church was ready. They purchased the new property. The St. Clair Avenue location was sold. By the fall of 2001, reconstruction was complete. The new building was at 1344 Martin Grove Road. The first service was held on December 9, 2001. The official dedication took place on January 20, 2002.
The West-End Church of God of Prophecy had a new location. It was a new beginning. The members felt the need for a new name. The church became West-End Church of God of Prophecy Worship Centre. It is affectionately known as West-End Worship Centre.

Today, West-End Worship Centre continues its mission. Reverend Dr. Frank Douglas leads as Lead Pastor. The church offers services and programs. They aim to develop strong leaders. They assist everyone in possessing a spirit of service. West-End Worship Centre stands as a beacon of faith. It is a place where all are welcome. It strives to make a difference in the community.
