Did you know that Father Serra Catholic School wasn’t always its own building? In September 1978, Father Serra Catholic School opened its doors. It wasn’t a new building though. The school leased the Green Meadows Junior School site. The Etobicoke Board of Education provided the site. This was to serve the growing Catholic population. They needed a Catholic elementary school in the area.

Initially, Father Serra Catholic School had 159 students. The number steadily grew. Today the school is located at 111 Sun Row Dr in Toronto. You can reach them at 416-393-5391. The fax number is 415-397-6095.

Father Serra Catholic School serves students from JK to Grade 8. In 2021-2022, the preliminary enrollment was 530 students. The school falls under the Toronto Catholic District School Board. You can find more about the board at http://www.tcdsb.org.

Father Serra Catholic School has undergone changes. Ramps were added for wheelchair accessibility. The office area was renovated. To handle the increasing number of students, six portables are on site.

Global Architects Inc. oversaw renovations in 2012. These renovations gave the school a contemporary style.

The school’s EQAO rankings provide insights into student performance. In 2023-2024, Grade 3 students ranked 248 out of 1335 schools. Grade 6 students ranked 51 out of 1219. The school’s 5-Year Average percentile score is 81 which is considered good. For Grade 6, the score is 89 also considered good. Remember these trends can be hard to interpret for smaller schools. Talking to teachers and the principal is more accurate.
