From Cityview Lookout you can see all the way to the City of Sydney. Yes really. You can even see the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s quite a secluded walk to get here. The path is narrow so watch your step if you pass other people. Cityview Lookout is a fantastic vantage point offering incredible views. It’s located at the end of a walk starting from Thornleigh Oval. You can park near Ferguson Avenue. This 1.2km walk takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Following the Lane Cove Valley Walk trail leads you to City View Track. Then follow City View Track to Cityview Lookout. The lookout itself is a rock platform providing an easy vantage point. Someone even built a chair into a tree for those needing a rest. On another track you can find Conscript Pass. This pass was built in the 1930s as part of a public works program. It features engravings including ‘Conscript Pass’ and ‘B Stevens’ with a caricature of Bertram Stevens the then Premier of NSW. The view from Cityview Lookout isn’t just about the city skyline. You see the Harbour Bridge far in the distance. This spot provides a unique perspective of Sydney unlike many other lookouts. The walk itself is enjoyable. It features a mix of forests and valley views. Cityview Lookout is more than a lookout. It’s a journey through a piece of Sydney’s history. A little-known gem offering breathtaking panoramic vistas. So take a moment soak in the beauty. Enjoy the view from Cityview Lookout.
