Lhota shared its fate with the Břežany estate. For centuries it was part of this larger estate. After the end of patrimonial administration in the mid-19th century, Lhota became part of the municipality of Dolní Břežany. This lasted until 1921. Lhota then became an independent municipality.

But Lhota’s independence was short-lived. In 1961 it again became part of Dolní Břežany. It remains so to this day.
