In 1957 bushfires devastated three schools in Hornsby. These schools were relocated. The boys were moved to a brand new building. This new building would become Normanhurst Boys High School. It opened its doors in 1958. Initially a comprehensive school Normo transformed. In 1993 it became academically selective. The first selective students enrolled in Year Seven in 1994. By 1999 the school was fully selective. Today it’s one of seventeen fully selective schools in New South Wales.
