“Omnis Scientia nisi a Deo” or “All knowledge, unless it comes from God.” This Latin motto encapsulates the spirit of Centro Universitario FIEO – UNIFIEO.
Founded on October 26, 1967, the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Instituto de Ensino para Osasco FIEO is the maintainer of UNIFIEO. It began with a vision to provide quality education and foster regional development.
In June 1969, UNIFIEO took its first academic steps with the Faculdade de Direito law school. It had an initial class of 118 students. This marked the beginning of a journey dedicated to teaching and research.
Three years later in 1972, the Faculdade de Administra\u00e7\u00e3o de Empresas Amador Aguiar was created. It honored Amador Aguiar. He was a businessman who supported the institution’s initiative.
The 1980s brought technological advancements. UNIFIEO responded by creating its first computer science course in 1985. The Ministry of Education MEC authorized the program.
In 1986, UNIFIEO incorporated the Faculdade de Filosofia, Ci\u00eancias e Letras Prof. Carlos Pasquale. It integrated its schools into a structure similar to universities. This led to the creation of the Faculdades Integradas de Osasco.
A natural progression occurred in November 1998. The Faculdades Integradas de Osasco transformed into UNIFIEO Centro Universit\u00e1rio FIEO. Several new courses were created at this time.
UNIFIEO’s founders included prominent figures such as Luiz Fernando da Costa e Silva. Also among them were Dr. Luiz Carlos de Azevedo, Jos\u00e9 Cassio Soares Hungria, Jos\u00e9 Maria de Mello Freire and Descio Mendes Pereira. Today, only Prof. Luiz Fernando da Costa e Silva remains. He continues to serve as an administrator.

The Vila Yara campus houses undergraduate, graduate, master’s and doctoral programs. It includes a physiotherapy clinic, an aesthetics clinic and a psycho-pedagogy clinic. These clinics provide services to the community.
The campus corridors display nearly 1,800 works from the Acervo FIEO de Arte. The Foundation has collected these pieces since 1969. They include works by renowned artists with significant artistic and cultural value.
Libraries with approximately 150,000 items support all courses. The collection is computerized and available online. The Vila Yara campus library reading room offers laptop-friendly tables.
UNIFIEO offers over 70 laboratories. These include computer labs for various courses. An amphitheater seats 250 students. Eight auditoriums accommodate 110 people.
Cantinas, bookstores and copy centers provide support services on the Vila Yara campus. Students receive benefits like discounts on books and affordable copies. The Vila Yara campus parking lot accommodates around 300 vehicles.
Buildings feature ramps and elevators for people with physical disabilities. The campus includes 8,000 square meters of space from Avenida dos Autonomistas. All classroom windows face a green residential neighborhood reducing noise.
Currently, UNIFIEO has over 950 enrolled students and more than 130 faculty members. It offers 40 undergraduate and 44 graduate courses. UNIFIEO maintains a strong presence with one campus in S\u00e3o Paulo state.
