Stone Bridge High School opened its doors in 2000. Its name pays homage to the stone Broad Run Bridge. The school quickly grew. By 2004 the student body reached almost 1900 students. This was the largest in Loudoun County.
Newsweek recognized Stone Bridge’s excellence. In 2014 it ranked the school as number one in Loudoun County. It was also fourth in Virginia.
The school’s colors are Carolina Blue Navy White and Silver. These hues represent pride. Students selected the mascot and colors in 1999. This referendum included Broad Run High School Loudoun County High School and Harper Park Middle School.
Stone Bridge High School boasts a rich athletic history. The annual football game against Broad Run High School is known as the “Battle of the ‘Burn'”. It fuels intense rivalry. Stone Bridge has secured 17 state titles in various sports. Cheerleading has four titles. Ice hockey boasts eight NVSHL titles. Girls’ soccer has two. Football has three AAA titles.
Extracurricular activities thrive at Stone Bridge. The debate program achieved state titles in 2005 and 2006. The Future Business Leaders of America chapter has been an Honor Chapter since 2002.
Several notable alumni have walked the halls of Stone Bridge High School. Jonathan Allen plays for the Washington Commanders. J.B. Bukauskas pitches for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Emily Fox represents the United States in soccer. She won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2024.
