Is this heaven? No, it’s the location of the Iglesia Bautista Agape in Tegucigalpa! The Iglesia Bautista Agape is a relatively young church. It was established in 2018 by Reverend Rafael Valter. He was urged to start this spiritual endeavor by Reverend Keith Savage. Reverend Savage was the lead pastor at Mountain Park First Baptist Church, which served as the mother church for Iglesia Bautista Agape. The first service was held on July 14, 2019. Shortly after, on August 28, 2019, the church received its official incorporation certificate. The church is led by Reverend Rafael Valter. He is a bi-vocational pastor, meaning he has another profession in addition to his religious duties. He is an administrator by trade and currently serves as a full-time chaplain. Reverend Valter has a rich history within Baptist communities. He served as the Second Vice President of the Georgia Baptist Convention from 2021 to 2022. He was also a missionary and church planter authorized by the North American Mission Board and a former member of the administrative team for the Gwinnett Metro Baptist Network. Reverend Valter is a man of deep faith and considerable theological education. He holds a Theology degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies, also from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Divinity in Leadership at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
