In 2001, the artist David Černý had a vision. He wanted to establish an independent cultural centre in Prague. This vision materialized as MeetFactory, a space where artists from all disciplines could converge, create, and inspire. Initially housed in an old factory building in Holešovice, MeetFactory’s journey took an unexpected turn. The devastating floods of 2002 forced them to evacuate. However, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, MeetFactory found a new home. They moved to an industrial building in Prague’s Smíchov district in 2005. This unique space, nestled between a bustling motorway and an active railway line, embodies the spirit of transformation and resilience. Today, MeetFactory thrives as a non-profit international center for contemporary art. This vibrant hub pulsates with energy. It hosts a dynamic mix of events from exhibitions and theatre performances to concerts and artist residencies. MeetFactory is a testament to the power of creative vision and the enduring spirit of art.
