The year was 2010. September arrived. Workers assembled the first bridge section. Then came October 5th. A 460-ton structure was lifted. It was rotated 45 degrees using temporary tracks. These were incredible feats of engineering.
Later in October 2016 work started on the eastern ramp. This led to the Faradaygasse. It finished in July 2018. The Südbahnhofbrücke’s design is unique. It uses inclined arch girders. This design is repeated in the railings. It is also repeated at the ends of the abutments.
