Don’t miss the RAILWAY GARDEN PROMENADE. It connects Omiya Station to the Railway Museum. Railway-related photos and exhibits line the 500-meter path. You might even catch a glimpse of the JR East Omiya General Rolling Stock Center.
Here stands a D51 steam locomotive. It is affectionately known as Degoichi. It was built in 1938. All its parts were made at this very center. The first of 31 locomotives built is proudly displayed here.
