Let’s step back in time. Christian Youth Camps first took root in Collaroy in 1945. By 1952, another campsite began at Mt Victoria. It was first known as Eltham Park. Tents were the original accommodation. Later, volunteers helped build cabins and buildings. Camp Toukley followed in 1954. It grew thanks to many volunteers into a large campsite near Canton Beach.
Now, imagine young people arriving at River Park Christian Youth Camp. They’re ready for outdoor experiences. The goal is to share God’s love. This love is expressed through Jesus Christ.
Eltham Park, Camp Toukley, and River Park joined forces in 2007. They operated under one board. A new name arrived in 2019. The camps became CCC Camps. Eltham Park turned into CCC Blue Mountains. Camp Toukley became CCC Central Coast. River Park took on the name CCC Hawkesbury.
CCC Camps welcomes school groups and community groups today. They also run holiday camps. These camps are open to children from all backgrounds. Outdoor education is key. The aim is to develop young minds. They also train future outdoor leaders. This happens through their Outdoor Leadership Training Program.
