Esther Shiner Stadium is located in North York. You will find it at Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West. It stands on the northwest corner. Originally it was named North York Civic Stadium. In 1988, the stadium was renamed. It honored Esther Shiner, a former North York Councillor. She was dedicated to the community.

York University’s football team once played here. They were tenants from the 1980s until 1995. The team then moved to York Stadium on campus. Esther Shiner Stadium has hosted many CPSL/CSL Championship finals. These were in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2014.

In 2004, the stadium closed for refurbishment. It reopened on September 15, 2005. It had a new artificial playing surface and a running track.

North York Rockets used the stadium in 1987. They played Canadian Soccer League games here. The stadium continued to host them until 1992. Toronto Jets also used the stadium in 1993 and 1994.
