Founded in 1929, Lai Chack Middle School has a rich history. Lai Chack Middle School began its journey as a girls’ school in Wan Chai. It later expanded with a branch on Jordan Road. After several relocations, the secondary school section found its permanent home at 180 Canton Road in 1955. Today, Lai Chack Middle School stands as a testament to its enduring motto, “Self-Strengthening without ceasing”. This motto, inspired by the I Ching, encourages students to be like the sun and moon, constantly moving and renewing themselves. The school fosters a vibrant learning environment. Lai Chack Middle School boasts a diverse range of facilities. These include a multimedia learning center, a Mac computer lab, a computer room, and a campus TV station. Students can explore their interests in the communication research room, guidance rooms, career guidance rooms, and the English center. The school provides ample resources. The school promotes a sense of community through its four houses: Benevolence (red), Righteousness (yellow), Propriety (blue), and Wisdom (purple). Xie Xian, a renowned Hong Kong actor, attended both the primary and secondary sections. The school’s alumni have made their mark in various fields.
