Can you imagine a university evolving right before your eyes? That’s the story of Centro Universidade Piaget, or UniPiaget as it’s now known. Here in Suzano, São Paulo, we stand before a testament to growth and ambition. Centro Universidade Piaget began its life in 2013 as Faculdade Piaget. It quickly became a respected institution. Then, a remarkable transformation occurred. The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) recognized its excellence. Centro Universidade Piaget was granted university status. This was a momentous occasion, marked by a ceremony on November 23rd. Dignitaries from Suzano and the region attended. Lúcia Marques Pereira, president of UniPiaget and director of the Escola Superior de Saúde Jean Piaget de Viseu was present. António Oliveira Cruz, founder and president of the Instituto Piaget, also graced the event. This new status as Centro Universidade Piaget, or UniPiaget, brings exciting changes. The university now has more autonomy. It can introduce new courses without prior approval from the MEC, significantly streamlining the process. Previously, launching a new course could take two years. Now, Centro Universidade Piaget is poised to expand its offerings rapidly, catering to the regional demand. They plan to double their current 16 courses. Five new additions are already slated for next year. This expansion extends beyond academics. A fourth building is planned for the campus, expected to open its doors to students in 2024. This physical growth mirrors the university’s burgeoning intellectual landscape. Centro Universidade Piaget’s commitment to quality is clear. It’s the only higher education institution in the Alto Tietê region with a top MEC rating. This rating reflects their excellent teaching, modern facilities, and highly qualified faculty of masters and doctors. Centro Universidade Piaget is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vibrant part of the community, partnering with local organizations and hosting cultural and educational events. This engagement reflects their belief in education’s power to transform lives and the region. So, as we stand before Centro Universidade Piaget, we witness not just a university but a symbol of progress. It embodies the belief in education, community engagement, and constant evolution. It’s a story still being written, a story of growth and potential unfolding right here in Suzano.
