A fire ravaged Näsby slott in 1897. But from the ashes rose a magnificent reconstruction. Before you stands Näsby slott a testament to resilience and history.

Näsby slott’s story begins in the late 1400s. It passed through many hands. Notable owners include Kristina Nilsdotter Gyllenstierna who narrowly escaped the Stockholm Bloodbath. Later Gustaf Axelsson Banér owned the estate. He was executed in the Linköping Bloodbath. His involvement in political conflicts significantly shaped Näsby’s fate.

The current structure largely owes its design to Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. Though rebuilt in 1904 by Carl Robert Lamm using Tessin’s original plans and with the help of architect Erik Josephson. Lamm’s passion for art is evident in the castle’s interior. He filled it with an impressive art collection. It included works by renowned artists like Bruno Liljefors Anders Zorn and Carl Milles.

Näsby slott also served as the Royal Naval War College from 1943 to 1987. Its transition from a military academy to a modern conference hotel showcases its adaptability.
