The group of tourists stood at the entrance of Kiryat Aryeh Industrial Zone, a bustling complex that housed a variety of businesses, factories, and workshops. The air was thick with the scent of industry, a mix of metal, fuel, and something faintly sweet.
“This area was transformed from a swamp to a thriving industrial center within a few decades,” the guide continued. “The swamp was drained, and the land was gradually developed, with the help of the Petah Tikva municipality. In fact, Kiryat Aryeh is one of six large industrial zones in the central region, anchoring the region’s economy.”
“And within Kiryat Aryeh,” the guide said, gesturing to a tall building covered in glass panels, “you can find a mix of old-school industry – like factories and workshops – as well as offices, high-tech companies, and even medical facilities!”
The guide pointed to a nearby street, a hive of activity, where trucks unloaded and loaded cargo, and engineers scurried into towering office complexes. “Right there, you see the Petah Tikva-Kiryat Aryeh railway station. It mainly serves commuters who work in the zone.”
