Young acquired land at Knox Place and Alabama Avenue Southeast. He then deeded it to his wife, Anna T. Young. Anna initially envisioned apartment housing. However, a divine vision guided her to build a church instead. Interestingly, she managed to fulfill both her dream and the vision. The first floor became the church, while the second floor housed an apartment. Young’s Memorial Church of Christ Holiness’s mission is to be empowered by God. They aim to minister to all mankind, improving lives on Earth and preparing for eternal existence with God. Their church theme is rooted in John 4:23-24, emphasizing worship in spirit and truth. The church’s pastoral vision is inspired by Habakkuk 2:2-3, focusing on making the vision plain. The church also embraces various ministries. These include the Adjutant, Administrative, Anna, Christian Education, Couples, Culinary, Deacon, Evangelism/Outreach, Media/Website, Men’s, Ministerial, and Missions Ministries. Young’s Memorial Church of Christ Holiness is led by Elder Gregory A. Armstrong, a man with a strong background in accounting and pastoral ministry. He is supported by First Lady Betty Armstrong, a dedicated leader within the Women’s Ministry. Elder Elsie Hebron serves as the Assistant Pastor, bringing years of experience in serving and mentoring. Young’s Memorial Church of Christ Holiness thrives on community support. Every donation helps them spread the Gospel of Jesus and serve those in need. They hold quarterly events for the homeless and less fortunate. Their weekly services offer spiritual upliftment to hundreds each month.
