“Can you imagine a time when fine dining was a mobile experience?” I ask you, gesturing towards the charming Rosara. You might know Rosara for its delectable pastries and savory treats today. But its story begins far more humbly. It all started in 1870 with Andrea Rosa, a visionary chef with a unique business model. Andrea decided to make his kitchen “mobile,” essentially inventing the concept of “home-delivered meals” for the grand Venetian palaces and villas. His horse-drawn river barge became a familiar sight, gliding along the Brenta River to deliver culinary delights. His son, Antonio, fondly called “Salva”, inherited this “traveling trattoria” in 1879 and became a celebrated chef in his own right. Antonio’s fame grew not just for his cooking, but for his exceptional talent as a pastry chef. It’s his legacy that lives on in the delectable pastries the Rosara company continues to produce, still under the watchful eyes of the Rosa family, six generations later! Their commitment to quality and adapting to their clients’ needs has ensured their enduring success.
