Picture this a charming farmhouse nestled in Prague-Ruzyně. This is Kubrův statek. It stands as a testament to centuries past. Its history stretches back to at least 1568. Records mention its existence in land documents from that year. Kubrův statek wasn’t always just one building. Originally four separate structures made up the farmstead. These included a two-story main house with a small addition. There were also stables a stone barn and a smaller building with stables and a cellar. All these buildings were surrounded by walls.

Today’s Kubrův statek is different. Time and progress have changed it. Only the main house the barn and parts of the walls remain. The other buildings have disappeared. They were lost alongside neighboring structures. These buildings made way for a hotel complex. The surviving main house now serves as a restaurant. It’s known as U Rychtáře.

Imagine the lives lived within those walls. Generations of farmers toiled the land. They raised animals and produced goods. Kubrův statek wasn’t just a home it was a business. A significant piece of history is tied to it. The Kubr family a Ruzyne family ran a well-known inn called Bílý Beránek in Stodůlky. They founded it in 1740. Family members lived there until 1961. Kubrův statek therefore reflects more than a farm. It represents a family’s legacy. Their impact extended beyond their home. Their influence remains even today.

The Kubrův statek shows the enduring strength of a rural farmstead. It survived centuries of change. It stands as a reminder of Prague’s agricultural past. It continues to stand as a restaurant. A place where history and modern life coexist. This beautiful structure is a living link to the past. It is a story etched in stone and time. A story you can enjoy at Kubrův statek.
