Stepping through the grand entrance of Viktor Rydbergs Gymnasium Odenplan, also affectionately known as VRG Odenplan, you may be surprised to learn that this esteemed school was established only in 1998. It was founded by Louise Andersson and Louise Westerberg, two women with a vision of creating exceptional educational institutions in Stockholm. VRG Odenplan quickly rose to national recognition for its high admissions standards, demanding academic rigors and a commitment to fostering a love of learning. The school’s motto, “Vetenskap och konst går hand i hand samt Hjarnan vill ha roligt,” highlights its philosophy of blending knowledge and creativity. In 2014, the school moved to its current location, the newly renovated southern wing of the historic Norrtulls Hospital. The striking structure, now showcasing VRG Odenplan’s vibrant classrooms and modern facilities, is a testament to the school’s evolution and commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for its students.
