What was it like to be one of those first few, answering a call to build something new? Crossroads Christian Church. That’s where our story unfolds. Crossroads Christian Church isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the power of faith. Crossroads began over 40 years ago in Vancouver, Washington. In 1972, Pastor Bill Ritchie moved his family to this then-sleepy suburb of Portland, fueled by a vision. He saw a community yearning for connection, for purpose. A few years later, in the fall of 1975, Crossroads Community Church was born. A small group of volunteers joined Pastor Ritchie, united by a shared dream: to introduce their community to Jesus. Pastor Ritchie himself describes the moment he felt the call to plant a church. It was a leap of faith, a pivotal moment. Perhaps that’s why the name “Crossroads” resonated so deeply. The name “Crossroads” spoke to the choices we all face. It symbolizes the intersection of faith and everyday life. It speaks to those moments of decision that change the course of our lives. For 40 years, Crossroads thrived under Pastor Ritchie’s guidance. He often reflects on that time with a sense of awe at God’s grace. In 2012, a new chapter began. Pastor Daniel Fusco took the helm. He carried forward the church’s mission. He continued to preach the message of Jesus. He continued to encourage the congregation to live out their faith. Crossroads Christian Church believes in a triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They see the Bible as the ultimate guide for life. The church is more than just a Sunday service.
